Ancient Don Gorge

Grant writing, report writing, historical comic and graphic novel, community talks, interactive website and photography. English Heritage commended our graphic novel Ancestors of the Don Gorge as an example of best practice in innovative heritage interpretation.

inHeritage created a project design for the Don Gorge Strategic Partnership and successfully secured funding from the Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund, managed by English Heritage.
We proposed a multi-strand heritage interpretation and education project, based on archaeological finds from aggregates-quarrying sites in the Don Gorge region of Doncaster. We worked in partnership with Doncaster Museum and South Yorkshire Archaeology Service to deliver our project design.
inHeritage created an archaeological report on finds in the Museum collection, and delivered a series of community talks, an interactive website, a comic for 7-11 year olds (The Romans are Coming!), a graphic novel for 12-14 year olds (Ancestors of the Don Gorge), object photography and a series of MyFind postcards.
