Walk Into the Dark Ages

Bill’s latest book Walk Into the Dark Ages will hit the shops in September. The book is a blend of stunning photographs, armchair walks and evocative descriptions of greatest early medieval sites of Britain and Ireland. Taking two years to complete, Bill travelled in his campervan from Cornwall to Shetland, Co Kerry to Norfolk, to photograph and research sites which take the reader from the end of the Roman Empire to the Norman Conquest via Celts, Angl0-Saxons, Vikings and the early Church.
It is a follow-up to the critically acclaimed Walk Into Prehistory.
Bill will exhibit selected photographs from both books at the Wirksworth Festival in September. Limited edition prints and signed copies of the book will be for sale. Bill will speak about ancient landscapes, photography and walking at the Sheffield Off The Shelf Festival in October.
